with a final score of 10 to 8. Both
wins for Christian and Hudson
were pins with times of :53 and
1102 respectively. Viner won both
of his matches with regular deci-
sions of 9-4 and 11-3.
Back home again on Tues-
day, November 29th, Lone Tree
wrestled Pekin and Mediapo-
lis. Christian won both of his
matches with pins in :31 and :29.
Hudson posted 3 pins as well,
getting the job done in 1144, 1133,
and 123. Rogers earned a win
working hard with a score of 4
to 2 and lost to two tough Pekin
wrestlers in his other matches
at this meet. Viner won all 3 of
his bouts with two pins in 2:42
and 1:20. Viner beat his second
opponent 6-2 going the full match
to the end, and then with a short
rest between that and his final
match, was able to turn the Pekin
wrestler for the fall in 1120.
Thursday, December 1st, Lone
Tree and D.urant both met in
Wellman at Mid-Prairie for the
shortest meet of the season.
There were only 11 matches
slated for the entire triangular.
Christian lost to an experienced
Mid.Prairie wrestler. Rogers
pinned his MP opponent in 142
and Viner also won by fall versus
his MP wrestler in 1:23.
The final meet for the mighty
Lions took them to Regina in
Iowa City. A couple quirky
events caused Christian and
Hudson to lose one of their two
matches each. Both LT wrestlers
were winning their matches.
Christian won his second match
With a pin in :40. Hudson posted
a fall in :37 for his win. Rogers
pinned his West Liberty oppo-
nent in 1:09, but lost to the Regina
wrestler he faced. Viner won by a
fall in 1:11 and beat his second op-
ponent 4-0, both of his wrestlers
from Regina.
Individually, Christian had 12
wins, 5 losses. Hudson posted 9
wins and 6 losses. Rogers won 9
and lost 11. Viner had 17 wins and
3 losses. The team of these 4 hard-
working wrestlers ended their 8th
grade season with a combined re-
cord of 47 wins and only 25 losses.
There were 36 pins out of the 47
victories. Leading the team with
falls was Christian with all 12 of
his wins coming by pins, followed
by Viner with 10, Hudson had 8,
and Rogers tallied 6 pins. No other
teams Lone Tree faced had only 4
members• These Lions were small
in numbers, but mighty in perfor-
mance to have these successfUl
stats. Great job Lions!
