Eldon Leland Jarrard 1927-2010
Eldon Leland Jarrard, 83, of
North Liberty, passed away on
Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at
Windmill Manor in Coralville.
Funeral services were held at 1:30
p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2010,
at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Fu-
neral and Cremation Services in
Lone Tree. Rev. Alecia Williams
officiated the services. Burial
was in the Lone Tree Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Mark Jar-
rard, Mike Seering, Doug Seering,
Kevin Malone, Scan Malone and
Mike Wright. Honorary casket
bearers were Scott Jarrard, Cleo
Dodson, Kenny Brenneman, Ver-
non Brenneman, Butch Meade,
David Malone and Fred Malone.
Visitation for Eldon was held on
Saturday, December 4, from 4:00
p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m.

mation Services in Lone Tree. In

Bruce G. Kirchner 79, of Lone
Tree, passed away on Tuesday, No-
Vember 30, 2010, at his home. Funer-
al services for Bruce were held at
10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 6,
2010, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for
Puneral and Cremation Services in
Lone Tree. Carol Kaalberg, Parish
Life Administrator, officiated the
services. Burial was in the Lone
Tree Cemetery with full military
rites provided by the Lone Tree
American Legion Post 457. Visita-
tion for Bruce was held on Sunday,
December 5. from 4:30 p.m. - 7:00
.m. at the Sorden-Lewis Home for
Funeral and Cremation Services in
Lone Tree. In lieu of flowers dona-
tions may be made to the Lone Tree
First Responders in memory of
Bruce. Online condolences may be

Eldon Leland Jarrard was born
on March 30, 1927, in Muscatine,
Iowa the son of Harry and Mil-
dred (Watson) Jarrard. Eldon was
a 1946, graduate of Lone Tree High
School. In 1948, Eldon was united
in marriage to Diane Abrams
in Iowa City Diane passed away
on July 3, 1965. Eldon was later
united in marriage to Elizabeth
"Betty" Malone on December 31,
1975 in Iowa City. Eldon was a
truck driver who drove for vari-
ous companies for many years.
He was a member of the United
Methodist Church in North Lib-
erty and a 50 year member of the
Lone Tree Masons, Abner Lodge
#535. Eldon enjoyed mowing, hav-
ing a manicured lawn, fishing,
camping, traveling, dancing, play-
ing and listening to music, but
most of all, Eldon dearly loved to
spend time with his family
Eldon will be deeply missed by
his wife, Betty of North Liberty;
his children, Rick Jarrard and
Raymond G. Spicher 1933-2010
A celebration of life mass for
Raymond G. Spicher 77, of Kalo-
na was held Monday, December
6, 2010 at 10:30AM at the Holy
Trinity Catholic Church in Rich-
mond. Burial followed at the Holy
Trinity Catholic Cemetery in
rural Richmond with full mili-
tary honors provided by the Rich-
mond AMVET Post 107. The fam-
ily greeted friends on Sunday, De-
cember 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 5-7PM
with a Rosary service at 7:15PM
at the Peterseim Funeral Home in
Kalona. Raymond died Wednes-
day, December 1, 2010 at his home
in Kalona following a lingering ill-
ness. His body has been cremated.
A memorial fund has been estab-
lished for Hospice of Iowa City
Raymond Gene Spicher was
born March 29, 1933 in Kalona,
Iowa the son of George and Velma
(Gingerich) Spicher. He graduated
from Kalona High School and on
February 20, 1954 he was united in
marriage to Diane Stumpf at the
Holy Trinity Catholic Church in
Richmond. He entered the United
States Navy in 1952 and served
until 1958. He was a member of
the Navy reserves from 1962 until
1989. Raymond operated the Jo-
etown Saw Mill for 15 years. He
was a member of the Holy Trin-
ity Catholic Church and Rich-
mond AMVET Post 107 where he
had served as a past commander.
Raymond enjoyed playing cards,
woodworking, puzzles, reading
and listening to country and west-
ern music.
Survivors include his wife
Diane of Kalona, seven children
and spouses, Dawn Spicher of
Kalona, Robin (Jerry) McLaugh-
Bruce G. Kirchner 1931-2010
Bruce Gaffe Kirchner was born
on January 9, 1931, in Muscatine,
Iowa, the son of Ernest Arnold and
Virginia Lorraine (Smith) Kirch-
ner. Bruce was a 1950 graduate of
Nichols High School. He served
with the U.S. Navy during the Ko-
rean War from 1952-1954 with the
rank of 3rd Class Boiler Tender. In
addition to this service, he served 4
years in the Navy Reserves, Bruce
was united in marriage to Mary
Jean Slofer on September 23, 1956
at the Nichols Methodist Church
in Nichols, Iowa.. Bruce worked for
Pyramid Services in Iowa City for
30 years. He served as a member of
the executive board for the Meth-
odist Church in Lone Tree, was a
50 year member of the Masonic
Lodge starting in Nichols and then
the Lone Tree Abner Lodge 535, a
50 year member of the American
Legion, serving between West Lib-
erty and the Lone Tree American
Legion Post 457 and a 50 year mem-
ber of the Eastern Star in Nichols,
Lone Tree and the Columbus Junc-
tion Emma Bechman Chapter 445.
Bruce had his own workshop in his

such as deacon benches and gazebo
style birdfeeders.
Bruce will be deeply missed by
his wife, Mary Jean of Lone Tree;
his daughter. Kathy Kay Miller and
her husband. Nick of Hills; one
grandson, Marshall Miller: one
great-grandson, Marcus Miller and
one sister, Lucille Green.
Bruce was preceded in death by
his parents, one sister, Jayne Burke,
one brother. Virgil Kirchner and
two brothers-in-law, Ferd Green
and Frank Burke.

injuries, cuts, simple fractures, or
minor burns, splint/cast applica-
tion, headaches, stomach aches,
nebulizer treatments, flu shots in
season, immunizations and injec-
tions, physicals, including ROTC,
DOT, and sports physicals, remov-
al of foreign bodies, simple tests
like pregnancy, strep, and glucose
and lab and x-ray services.
If a prescription is needed, it
will be sent electronically to the
retail pharmacy you choose. Most
insurance plans are accepted and
financial assistance may be avail-

If you need follow-up care, you

from your urgent care visit. If you

help you find a doctor who suits
your needs.
