City, were Friday dinner guests of

tended the Mrs. Myrtle Jenntngs fu-
neral at Columbus Junction.
Miss Anna Gay of Minneapolis,
visited here Wednesday. Miss Gay
is visiting in Iowa City and Itedrich
before going to California to spend
the winter.

Mrs. A. W. Jones has received
word from her" cousin, Major Paul
Wagner, saying he has re~e,.:t:y ar-
rived in Paris where he will be sta-
tioned for three months.
He will superintend the distribu
tion of clothing and food to the
French and Belgian families who
helped American airmen escape dur-
ing the war.
Pfc. Lester Johnson returned last
week to San Antonio, Tex., where he
will receive treatment for wounds r~-
ceived in Germany. Pfc. Johnson had
spent a furlough here with his wife
and daughter, who are making their
home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Barnhart.

church met Wednesday at the church.
A chicken dinner was served to the
public at noon. Mrs. J. H. Gippte,
MI~. Vere Walker, Mrs. Donald Buser,
and Mrs. Harry Chapman.
Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson haee
been visiting relatives at Albia. Mr.
Johnson is on vacation from his du-
ties as Milwaukee section foreman.
