While volunteering I have partici- pated in the December ceremony at Oakland Cemetery, marked graves for wreath placement, and have laid wreaths in both the Lone Tree and Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. I recently learned the laying of wreaths and the ceremony will not take place this year. But, I would still like to ask our com- munity to honor veterans buried in the Lone Tree Cemetery, if you are able, by purchasing a wreath to place on a grave. The Lone Tree middle school students are selling evergreen wreaths from now until October 19. I encourage you to purchase a wreath to place on a grave. I am offering to place the wreath after they arrive if you are not able and will also place it on a specific grave if requested. I hope you will be able to join my family in honoring the men and women who have served our country.
