A benefit for Jason Jenks
will be held on Saturday,

American Legion.
Jenks was diagnosed with
a menlngloma tumor in
early August. On Aug, 18th
he had s to remove it,
Jenks is currently at St.
Luke's Hospital in Cedar
Rapids at the Rehabilitation

bilitating motor skills that
were lost,

Lone Tree girls are third at SEISC Meet at Wapello

The rain was pouring and
thunder was rolling when the
teams arrived at the Indian Hills
Golf course in Wapello, but the
clouds lifted and despite the
chilly air, it was a great night for
Cross Country competition.
The Lone Tree g!rls finished
in the top three in their confer-
ence. placing behind Pekin (32)
and Mediapolls (78), with 105
team points.
Senior Ella Feldman led the
way with a time of 16:13, sixth
overall, and freshman Paige
Doehrmann was eighth with a
time of 16:20. Both earned All
Conference honors for their ef-
forts.
The L-T boys' squad earned
324 team points, twelfth overall,
finishing ahead of Harmony and
behind Central Lee at the Con-

Lone Tree ran more plays than
in the last game, didn't have the
advantage of long punt and
kickoff returns, but the result
was still pretty much the same
as the Lions dismantled the Van
Buren Warriors, 62-0, in Keo-
sauqua. Obviously, the long bus
ride didn't leave them stiff and
lethargic coming into the game.
Van Buren took the opening
kickoff on Its 35 after it went out
of bounds and Lone Tree scored
almost immediately. On the first
play Bryan Forbes intercepted
a pass on the 45 and ran it back
to the 25. It took the Lions Just

Tree High School on Thursday,
October 11 at 9:20 a.m. to answer
questions about admission, cam-

The Lone Tree girls battled the
Wolves of WMU on October 2,
2012, falling to the high-powered
hitters at Winfield in three games,
25-10, 25-14. 25.15.
The Lady Lions got seven kills
from Junior middle hitter Mad.
elyn Flemr who also had a pair of
blocks, tour digs and was perfect

team in the loss,

Karly Hester assisted six times,
and sophomore Makenzie Reyn.

Lions vanquishing the Falcons of

Senior Avery Edwards netted
nine kills in the match, getting in
19 assists, four digs and serving
15-16 for her team. Senior Laursn
Volk netted three kills in the win
on senior night as well.
