What do Masons Do
Charity is a fundamental
course of action of modern
Masonary and is evident in all
communities in its support of
socially necessary institutions. In
some states, it is the hospitals for
cancer, or other malignant dis-
ease, or for crippled children. In
others, it is the homes for the aged
from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kalona
Methodist Church. Friends and rel-
atives are invited to attend.
Her children are Albert Barnes
of Bristol, Ind.; Louise Carpenter,
Linda Williams, Roger Barnes and
Arthur Barnes, all of Iowa City;
Alice McAllister of Washington;
Diane Westfall of Riverside;
Naomi Barnes of Urbandale;
Marilyn Thomas of Peoria, Ill.; and
Rebecca of Swedeland, Penn.
She also has 16 grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
or institutions for geriatrics, or
youth guidance. All' this is shown
by the acts and conduct of indi-
vidual Masons supporting and
fostering socially beneficial legis-
lation. All over the world,
Masonary offers help to the poor,
the handicapped, the displaced.
Masonary moves quietly to
relieve human suffering and
increase the structure of men and
women as children of God.
Creeds have their necessary func-
tion in every society. However, it
is not creed, but action that
Masonry emphasizes. Masonry
supports the good works of all
religions in community service.
Men of all faiths wear the "square
and compass" of this fraternity.
No mason will willing permit
another Mason or any man to go
hungry, to suffer indignity, to be a
slave, or to lose his high position
as a son of God.
