New Fence For Ball Diamond

League Baseball
Girls T-Ball League
Opener
Lone Tree girls T-ball opened
the season with a victory against
Riverside. The team scored 8 runs
the first inning and held Riverside
to one run.
In the third inning Corey
Smothers hit a home run, bringing
in 2 runners. The score in the
bottom of the 3rd was 21-9.
The first game of the season, Dusty Thomae and Beth Mar-
May 25, was successful for the shall had 2rid base hits. The 4th
Lone Tree Black Little League and final inning brought in 8 mere
baseball team as they defeated runs and the final score of 29-15.

The Lone Tree Black Little
League Baseball Team traveled to
Wellman June 1st with a success-
ful of 11 - 10. Pitcher Keith
Marshek faced 14 at bat and struck
out 5, Andy Westhke faced 13 at
bat and struck out 5 and Andy Loan
faced 8 at bat and struck out 4.
Morgan Ripperton and Danny
Rayner each had a single and Andy
~an two singles. Home runs each
were earned by Lane Yoder and
Andy Loan.

Danny Rayner and good offense
gave the Lone Tree Black Little
League baseball team their third
win June 9th at Lone Tree over
Washington Township. A triple
play in the second inning set the
pace for the Lone Tree fired up
team. Shawn De Good, Andy
Westlake and Shawn Larkin each
had a single. Rick Hain, Danny
Rayner and Andy Loan each had 2
singles for the night and one home
run by Andy Loan. Good defense
gave the Lone Tree team a victory
of 17-2. Marshek faced 10 batters
and struck out one, with Andy
Westlake facing 10 batters, strik-
ing out 4.
A victory on June I0 gave the
Lone Tree Black Little League
Baseball team a 4 win 0 loss record
for the season so far. The game
fairly close till the 6th inning
hen Lone Tree's offense explod-
c~i with 13 runs, defeating Ains-
worth 10 - 3 at Ainsworth's field.
Pitcher Andy Loan faces 24 bat-
ters, striking out 13 with Rick Hain
as catcher. Lane Yoder went 4 for 5
at bat, enjoying a single, a double
and two triples. Others contribut-
ing to the big win were Danny
Rayner, two singles; Andy Loan a
double, Rick Hain a single and
Andy Westlake a double and two
singles.
Lone Tree demonstrated their
ability to field in the 4th inning
when they had 3 Kalona batters up
and 3 batters out.
The team batted the fifth inning
scoring 8 more runs and taking the
victory with a 29-10 win.
Lmm Tree Giris T--Ball On A Roll
Lone Tree vs Wellman was a
challenge when Katie Bell, the
catcher, injured her foot and
couldn't play. All was fine consid-
ering. She managed to cheer us on
to a 20-10 victory. The girls proved
that alot of practice and hard work
pays off. The first inning was
wonderful. Jenni Latta slammed a
hit to right field opening the game
with a home run, Whitny Ronan
had a super game with a 2nd base
hit, Elisha Ronan, one 3rd base
hit, Corey Smothers took it all with
a grand slam the first inning
followed by another home run in
the 3rd. The team coached by Ruth
Allender and Merry Thomae
couldn't ask for a better group of
kids. All of them are enthusiastic
and show great sportsmanship.

work, girls.
Afldetic Booster Club project.
Estimates wore received from
several fence companies with the
bid going to Advance Fence
Company in Clinton. The project
was completed in three phases.
First was the layout and making of
the poles. Then the 100 post holes
were dug. The next phase was
setting the I00 poles in cement and
getting them leveled and in line.
The last phase and the hardest
was the streW2dng of the 1000 R. of
chain link fence. This was-an all
day project even with all the help
Defensively LT looked real good
on some plays and not so good on
others. On the plus side were:
Melinda, Alisa, Sarah Bell, Sarah
Bock, Kristine Hain, Steffanie
Carrie Parizek, and Jill.
LT will be at Washington
Township Thursday, June 16 and
at Hills Tuesday, June 21.
Little Stars H 15 - Ainsworth 4
Thursday, June 9, Little Stars II
traveled to Ainsworth and came
home with a 15-4 victory. LT took a
4-1 lead in the first inning.

Ainsworth added I in the 4th and 2
in the 5th. The game was doser
than what the score indicates as LT
scored 9 of its 15 runs after they
had 2 outs.
Alisa SwartzendruSer and Stef-
fanie Forbes once again handled
the pitching. Steffanie struck out 3
batters, Alisa took out 6.
Jill Yedlik had an excellent
game at the plate with a triple, a
double, - 1 hit, Melinda Buline and
Krista Yedlik 2 hits - 1 walk, Sarah
Bock 1 hit - 2 walks, Annie
Koedam, Natalie Brown, hiAIisa.t.l
and Steffanie each had 1
