Well, I guess the big news this
week is Hillary. She supposedly
made her official announcement
on Sunday that she is going to
run for President of the United
States. The last I heard there
were three Republicans in the
race, officially, so far, Ted Cruz,
Rand Paul and Marco Ruble.
If two of those four turn out
to be the party nominees next
year then I guess I will have to
write my own name on the bal-
lot for President. No, I wouldn't
go that far. I'd probably write in
Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck
instead. Let me begin with Hill-
ary. All I know about her is what
I read in the newspapers or see
on TV. From that standpoint,
I do not trust her. Of course,
as I have said more than once
before, I don't trust any politi-
cian. Besides not trusting her
on a general basis (covering up
the Embassy killings, using her
own e-mail account and then
deleting, just to name a couple)
I think she is a vain, glory-seek-
ing woman. Of course I can't
prove it, but my opinion about
why she stuck with Bill more
than 20 years ago was to be able
to move in the power circles.
Without Bill she figured that she
might, some way, get elected to
some public office, but wouldn't
have the punch to go as high as
she wanted to. So, she stuck with
Bill through all of his peccadil-
loes thinking he would become
President and she'd be in a posi-
tion to make some waves. She got
lucky on that gamble because

Ross Perot jumped into the race
and siphoned enough votes from
George H. W. Bush to get Clinton
in the White House with about
43 % of the popular vote.
Of the three turkeys on the Re-
publican side who have officially
jumped in, Marco Ruble is the
only one I would even remotely
consider voting for. He seems
like a pretty square Joe, but
right now I don't know enough
about his political views. I'm
not sure how far to the right he
leans, if at all. Ted Cruz seems
so far to the right that he is re-
ally scary. Rand Paul isn't much
better from what I've seen of
him. I saw an interview recent-
ly with Savannah Guthrie on
the Today Show. She asked him
something and he gave her a lot
of political DUll and didn't re-
ally answer the question and she
came at him again and he kept
trying to shout her down saying,
"Let me answer the question."
She finally did and he still gave
her political bull and at that
point I switched stations. My
first choice, really, is Jeb Bush,
although I don't think he could
get elected. Too many people
would say, "We don't need an-

Lone Tree women who have
electric washers have it in for the
power plant people. On wash day
when they get the water in the
tubs off goes the power and they
have to either wash by hand or
wait for the current to be turned
on again. Others using electric
motors are likewise bothered as
all the power is used in the found-
ry during the time steel is being
cast.
State School Inspector Fuller
was in Lone Tree on Tuesday
making the usual examination of
schools. The Lone Tree school will
remain on the approved list until
under the car when Braun entered
the car and backed away from the
curb where the car was parked.
All present teachers on the staff
of the local school were re-elected
by the Board of Education Tues-
day evening and the teachers have
been tendered contracts for anoth-
er year here.
