Christian, along with Squiers and
Michael Schmidt, was on the 16th
place shuttle hurdle team and will
look to compete in some different
events this season.
Ross Swinton is returning from
a season where he went to state
and set a school record with a

could play a key role in some
other events this year as well,"
said Coach Close.
Niko Gosnell was just shy of
making it to state in High jump
last year with a jump of 5'8" and
a fourth place finish at the state
qualifying meet. "He is very ex-
cited to get another opportunity
at trying to compete at state this
year," said Close. "Drake Hotz,
returning for his junior season,
is going to have some big shoes to
fill in relay events this year."
"We have some nice young piec-
es to build on and I've been very
happy with the work ethic from
this group so far. We won't have
the biggest team this year, but I
think we can surprise some peo-
ple if we continue to work hard
and do things right."
The Lions' first meet is March
28th at Pekin High School.

fourth at the state-qualifying meet
