FFA W, ,eK hosted Dy ]00one T]'00e FFA
Another Successful FFA Week
for our Lone Tree FFA members!
Everyone in the school building
got to see the members show their
FFA spirit. Each day they had to
suit up in the theme that was cho-
sen for that specific day. There
was no school on Monday, so the
members had to start their FFA
Week on a Tuesday wearing their
Farm Safety Day shirts, and they
got to be on RFD-TV (a rural cable
television channel) and be edu-
cated by Kristi Ruth about farm
safety and her personal experienc-
es. She explained to the members
how farm safety is an important
issue because she herself was in
an unfortunate accident around
farm equipment. The members
took a real interest in her presen-
tation and walked out learning
something new.
Wednesday, the members had a
pizza party and dressed in their
brightest neon shirts or they
dressed in their camo hunting
gear. A lot of Lone Tree students
found their hunting gear fun and
eye opening! Thursday, every-
one dressed in plaid and flannel
shirts and volunteered to work
the school staff breakfast. Here
they showed their appreciation
for their teachers by providing
them with a wholesome meal that
included bacon, pancakes, juice,
milk, and a variety of fruit op-
tions. The teachers were more
than satisfied and loved that
the FFA members took the time
out of their mornings to serve
the teachers breakfast. Friday,
the members decided to keep it
original and dress in FFA colors,
which are blue and gold. Because
of their dedication to FFA Week
a lot of Lone Tree students have
wanted to purchase Lone Tree
FFA apparel, which is a good way
to recruit members for next year!
Contact a Lone Tree FFA member
if you would like your own Lone
Tree FFA apparel! Good job FFA
members!

Bank in Lone Tree, presented
Forbes with a $1,000 scholarship
to the college of his choice. "Iowa
banks care about their communi-
ties. When we see an individual
like Logan excel in the opportu-
nities that are available to him
through the Lone Tree schools
and the Lone Tree community,
we want to be a part of recogniz-
ing that because we know Logan
will be part of the heartbeat of
any community in which he lives.
We think that his efforts and his
attitude should not only be recog-
nized, but also rewarded. That's
why we are excited to be a part of
the Iowa Bankers scholarship pro-
gram." said Forbes.
Forbes was selected for the
award based on his scholastic
standing, leadership ability in
school and community, involve-
ment in school-related activities
and clubs, citizenship and athletic
participation.
"Logan Forbes is an outstand-
ing student gifted with a sharp
mind and a strong work ethic."
said Lone Tree Community School
Superintendent, Michael Reeves.
"He has earned all-conference,
all-district, and all-state honors in
a number of the sports that he has
participated in. Logan displays
the same attitude toward excel-
lence in Fine Arts performances
and, in my opinion, is the top all-
around Fine Arts performer that
