EASTERN STARS HELD
REGULAR MEETING FRIDAY
The regular monthly meeting of the
Order of Eastern Stars was held last
Friday night in the Masonic Hall. A
goodly number of members were pres-
ent.
After a satisfactory businessmeet -
ing a committee consisting of Misses
Alvina and Elsie Kirchner with Mrs.
and-Mr. Harry Fox furnished an en-
joyable hour. The entertainment
took the form of a Valentine party.
Interesting Valentine games were
played one of these being a guessing
game prepared on large paper hearts.
An intelligence test proved to be a
sort of cross word puzzle which
when worked told that refreshments
were ready. The refreshments were
served at a large table decorated with
flowers and Valentine favors. A de •
llcious repast of Valentine lee cream,
cake and coffee was served. The whole
hour was one of utter enjoyment. The
members all but decided to have the
same committee serve each meeting,

special afternoon and evening meet-
ing to be held Saturday, February the
21st. At this time the district instruc-
tress. Mrs. Emma Weeber of Iowa
City will be in Nichols to hold the
nnual school of instruction. Mrs

Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Nichols who left
here several weeks ago for a trip
through the Vest returned home last
Saturday morning, tired but none tbe
worse for a little wear.
Their first stop was in San Jose,
California where they visited an
unele,lr. Townsen Nichols who is
very well known in these parts.
ARer visiting in San Jose they
made several stops at different points
in California, New Mexico, Utah and
Colorado, namely Los Angeles, San.
Ana, Long Beach, San Diego, Say
Francisco and Oakland, California,
Salt Lake City, Utah and Colorado
Springs, Colorado.
