TTT meeting report
Chapter AR TTT met at the
home of Thelma Smith on Mon-
day, January 13, 2014. Helen
Baker served as co-hostess. Sev-
enteen members were present.
Vice President Sylvia Hain gave
each member a copy of the new
2014-2015 program book. Topics
of discussion were selecting 2014
camp girls, holding an event for
former campers, and donations to
the local food pantry. Chapter AR
TTT would like to thank the com-
munity for their support in nut
sales and Younkers Community
Days Sale. With the community's
support, these recent fund-rais-
ing projects were successful. Vida
Wollrab will be the February host-
ess with Wanda Anderson serving
as co-hostess.

named to the Fall 2013 Dean's List
at Mount Mercy University. Buser
is studying Nursing and Watkin-
son is studying Criminal Justice
at Mount Mercy. Students with a
semester grade point average of
3.60 or better, and who are graded
(letter grade, not pass/fail) for six
or more semester hours, are eli-
gible for inclusion on the Dean's
List.

of one patrol shift a month.
Uniforms, badges, some leather
gear, and collar brass are fur-
nished by the Sheriff's Office.
However, Reserves are expected to
buy the remainder of their leath-
er gear and weapons. These costs
can be anywhere from $500 to $700
over the first year of service. Paid
jobs are available. However, they
are infrequent and should not be
considered as a reliable source of
income.
The requirements for the posi-
tion are:
- Resident of Johnson County
or reside within 20 miles of the
Johnson County Sheriff's Office
- Age 21 or above at the time of
hire
- Retired or gainfully employed
- Be in good physical condition
- Ability to pass a pro-employ-
ment background check
