Hayes, Smith moved to table the rest

work session. Motion died for lack of a
second.
Putting up the snow fence was dis-
cussed with no other action taken on it.
Hayes, Wieland moved to table item
B (Williams vs City) until the end of the
work session. CARRIED.
Smith, Hayes moved to close the
special meeting and go into a work
session with the option to re-open the
special meeting later. CARRIED. 7:33
p.m.
After a short recess the work session
convened at 7;48 p.m. Mayor Allison
left the meeting after feeling ill. Mayor
Pro-Tem K. Brown took over the meet-
ing.
Jennifer Ryan from ECICOG pre-
sented the council with information on
Open Burning and Yard Waste Man-
agement. Ms. Ryan will have a model
ordinance for the February meeting
along with a press release.
Mayor Pro-Tern K. Brown re-opened
the special meeting at 10:02 p,m.
Hayes, Smith moved to go into a
closed session to discuss possible liti-
gation with Williams vs City. CARRIED
at 10:04 p.m. with a Nay vote from
Wieland.
At 10:19 p.m. the special meeting
was re-opened. Hayes, Smith moved
to have Attorney Greenleaf go forward
on the possible litigation with Mr.
Williams. CARRIED with all Ayes.
Smith, Wieland moved to adjourn
the meetings. CARRIED.
Mayor Pro-Tem K. Brown declared
the meetings adjourned at 10:20 p.m.

The League of Women Voters
of Johnson County legislative
forums will again be held on
the last Saturday of each
month during the legislative
session. The forums will be
held at the Iowa City Council
Chamber from 9:30 a.m. until
11:30 a.m. Dates of the forums
are January 29, February 26,
March 26, and April 30.
Senators Joe Bolkcom, Bob
Dvorsky, David Miller, and
James Hahn, and Representa-
tives Ro Foege, David Jacoby,
Mary Mascher, Vicki Lensing,
Jeff Kaufmann, and Sandra
Greiner have been invited to
attend.
The forums provide an
opportunity for dialogue
among legislators and their
constituents in Johnson Coun-
ty
The legislators present five-
minute summaries of critical
issues before their respective
houses, particularly those of
interest to them. The remain-
der of the forum is devoted to
public comment and questions,
beginning with questions from
the co-sponsors. The micro-
phone will then be open to
members of the audience.
The Iowa City Education
Association will co-sponsor the
January forum.

within Lone Tree, Iowa, and all persons

Council of the City of Lone Tree, Iowa,
will meet at the Lone Tree City Hall,
123 N. DeVoe Street, Lone Tree, Iowa,
at 6:30 p.m. on February 07, 2005, at
which time and place said council will
consider approval of ORDINANCE
2004-3, amending Chapter No. 165
(Zoning Regulations) of the Municipal
Code of Lone Tree, Iowa.

Proposed amendment to Chapter No.
165 of the Municipal Code of Lone
Tree, Iowa is as follows:
New Section 165.16.5.B. Minimum Lot
Areas and Width. Single-family
dwellings minimum areas located with-
in a cuFde-sac: 7,200 square teet, with
a minimum- frontage of 60 feet at the
ptoperty line and 70 feet at the setback
line.
New Section 165.17.5.A. Minimum Lot
Areas and Width. Two-family dwellings
minimum areas located within a cul-
de-sac: Frontage shall be 60 feet at the
property lot line and 70 feet at the set-
back line. Width shall be 60 feet at the
property lot line and 70 feet at the set-
back line.
Section 165.18.5, Minimum Lot Areas
nd, Section A is amended to
read: Single family dwelling: Area--

America to award twelve
scholarships
Farm Credit Services of
America (FCSAmerica)
announced that twelve $2,000
scholarships will be available
to young people planning a
career in agriculture for the
2005-2006 academic year. The
scholarships will be given to
juniors and seniors studying at
land grant universities in Iowa,
Nebraska, South Dakota and
Wyoming.
"Nothing is more important
than a sound education for
tomorrow's ag leaders,"
FCSAmerica Executive Vice-
president Nell Olsen said.
"There's no question that edu-
cation, along with practical
experience, is the key to suc-
cess for those working in agri-
culture in the future. Offering
these scholarships is just one of
the ways in which FCSAmerica
is helping to prepare and devel-
op tomorrow's producers and
professionals."
